Vital Body OT

Vital Body OT promotes resiliency and reintegration through a variety of innovative, nourishing and functional therapies.  With the link between engagement in occupation and emotional responses, occupational therapists have a unique role in facilitating the physical, mental and emotional well-being of their clients through daily tasks.

Functional movement plays an important role. Achieve better movement with the aim of improving activities of daily living.

The Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation (DNS) approach Lisa uses as part of her work, provides functional tools to activate and stabilise the body in order to optimize the movement system for both pre-habilitation and rehabilitation. The ultimate strategy is to “train the brain” to maintain central control, joint stability and ideal quality of movement that is achieved through guidance from the Occupational Therapist. This manual rehabilitation technique works for the elite athlete to the average person to those with movement difficulties.

Functional Soft Tissue Therapy is an approach to treating dysfunction of your muscles, tendons, ligament or nerves that may develop due to injury, trauma, age, emotional stress, poor posture, disease or hormonal imbalances. Lisa specialises in the area of soft tissue treatment with the aim to improve, restore and maintain function throughout the life span. A variety of hands-on soft tissue and neuro muscular techniques are used to identity individual dysfunction and enhance the functioning of the musculo skeletal system and tissues, as well as your lymphatic and circulatory systems. Soft tissue treatment has been shown to be effective in reducing pain as well as eliminating or minimising the causes of dysfunction, a primary goal of Occupational Therapy. Part of this treatment may include Myofascial Release techniques. This is a very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure that releases the muscles & fibrous fascial tissue surrounding it.
