Times and Class numbers

Class will start at the advertised time.

In consideration for your yoga class participants, please arrive at least 10 - 15 minutes PRIOR to class commencing,  especially those yoga students who require assistance transferring to the floor.
Class numbers are small to keep everyone in our little yoga community safe.

'AGNI' Dynamic class – max of 8 people

'LOTUS" Floor class – max of 6 people

It is particularly important for those yoga students in the LOTUS class to book early if they need an assistant in class. This may gives us sufficient time to locate appropriate helpers who are able to volunteer their time to support you. Whilst we try our best, we can't guarantee you will have a 1:1 assistant.

Unfortunately, classes may not be offered without a minimum of 4 participants.

Bookings are ESSENTIAL.

To avoid disappointment - your registration and payment are required before the first class of term. We can no longer "hold" mats for those intending to practice.

Commonly asked questions about classes....

1. Does it matter what kind of disability I have? No. EVERY body is welcome. The classes are aimed to meet your level of ability. We try to keep people with similar level of abilities in the one class.
2. Do I have to practice on a yoga mat? No. You can practice on a chair (wheelchair or standard) if you prefer. Or if you can get yourself onto the floor (either independently or with a carer) you're more than welcome to practice seated on a mat.
3. The cost? Please contact Lisa for the cost of classes. It will differ between individual classes, small groups and if you require hands on assistance.
4. How long are the classes? Classes run for 60 minutes.
5. Do I have to attend each class? Yes and No. It's important to commit to your practice in order to gain the benefits. Terms  are scheduled in 10 week blocks.
6. What do I need to bring?  You don't need to bring a thing. Wear comfortable clothing you can move and stretch in. If you have your own mat that you'd prefer to use, please bring it to class with you.
7. What time is the class? Check the listed times. Always arrive a little earlier if it takes you a while to transfer onto the floor.
8. Do I need to book in? Yes. Bookings are essential as mats are limited!
9. Why are class numbers limited? This is to ensure everyone's safety, and so you get the most out of your practice. Register early - most classes have only 6 spots available! We also need a minimum of 4 people booked in to run a class.
10. What if I need some help during class? If you need assistance during class, please bring a carer / friend/ family member with you.  We will try to locate a volunteer to assist you in class if you need one, however, we can't always guarantee we can find someone.
11. Where is Royal Rehab? 235 Morrison Road, Ryde. Plenty of off street parking at the front and back of the hospital. Please head down to the Ground floor and look for the Dixson Conference Room.
12. How can I use my NDIS package? Depending on your plan, attending a yoga class and (more importantly) having the assistance to do so, you will need to check with your NDIS plan manager or your LAC.  Yogavana is a registered provider under "Exercise and Physiology Groups" and "Innovative Community Participation". If you are plan managed within NDIS, you will need to have funding allocated to those domains.
